Your home’s yearly outlook

Understand why the same home is considered differently each year, and what information makes an annual review useful.

Why review the same home?

Home is where we rest, recharge and spend time with loved ones. A yearly Feng Shui reading considers the home’s enduring layout alongside the year’s changing influences.

In Flying Star practice, a visiting star occupies the Central Palace each year. The annual arrangement is interpreted in relation to directions and household priorities, including relationships, work, learning and wellbeing.

The first practical step is to establish the orientation of the property. The reference point can differ with the type and configuration of the home.

Start with orientation

The traditional approach uses the following features as starting points for assessing a home’s orientation:

Landed properties
The main gate.
Apartment with a straight alignment
The main door, where it is in line with the balcony or main window.
Apartment with a perpendicular alignment
The balcony or main window, where it is perpendicular to the main door.

Real layouts can be less straightforward. Share your floor plan if the entrance, windows or building configuration make the reference point unclear.

Read the annual influences

The yearly rotation of Flying Stars and Influential Stars is used to interpret which areas deserve attention. An annual consultation connects those ideas to the rooms you actually use.

Relationships and support

The traditional Zheng Tao Hua and Pian Tao Hua themes concern relationships and social connections. Recommendations are considered alongside the household and its living space.

Calm, usable spaces

Traditional practice discusses the Three Killing Star and the Five Yellow Star as areas for greater care. Bring questions about clutter, room use, renovation and placement to a personalised review.

Generic examples do not locate a sector in an individual home. Its facing direction and floor plan are needed for that discussion.

What a report can cover

  • The home’s current-year evaluation.
  • Recommendations linked to your household’s goals.
  • The yearly personal outlook of household members included in the service.
  • Wealth and benefactor sectors.
  • Relationship and learning sectors.
  • Traditional safety and wellbeing considerations.
  • Auspicious dates within the agreed scope.

Your consultant confirms the exact report contents, household coverage and any supporting consultation.

Plan for the year

Prepare early if you are considering renovation, a move or a change in how a room is used. Make a note of what is staying and what you can realistically change.

For a new home, start with unit selection and the underlying layout. For an existing home, discuss whether you need a full audit or an annual update.
